Rafeeq — Delete Your Account

This page explains how to delete your Rafeeq account (رفيق: محادثة وتعلم الإنجليزية on Google Play and the App Store), what is removed, and the few records that are kept. You can delete your account at any time, using either method below.

Option 1 — In the app (immediate)

Open the Rafeeq app and sign in.
Go to Profile (الملف الشخصي).
Tap “Delete Account” (حذف الحساب) at the bottom.
Confirm. Your account and the data listed below are permanently and immediately deleted.

Option 2 — By email (if you cannot open the app)

Send an email from your account’s email address to support@rafeeqenglish.com with the subject “Delete my account”. We will verify your identity and permanently delete your account and data within 30 days.

What gets deleted

Your profile — display name, learning goal, profile photo link — and your account credentials.
Your learning progress, completed lessons, review history, and placement results.
Your written texts, your AI conversation history and its summaries, and your in-app support conversations.
The link between you and our reminder logs: the record of each reminder we sent you is anonymised, so it no longer points to you.
The hashed copy of your email address kept to rate-limit password-reset emails.

Voice recordings are never stored by us in the first place: a recording is sent straight to the provider that processes it and is not written to our database or file storage.

What is kept, and for how long

Purchase records — Google Play or the App Store, and our subscription provider RevenueCat, keep the record of past purchases (product, dates, store transaction ID, linked to the random account ID we used for you — no name or email) because billing, refund and tax rules require it. We never hold card details.
Usage analytics — events already sent to Google Analytics for Firebase are deleted automatically within 14 months.
Server logs — technical logs that may contain your user ID and IP address are deleted automatically within 30 days.
Emails in our support mailbox — emails you sent us, and the copies of in-app support messages that reach our mailbox, are kept for up to 12 months and then deleted. Ask us and we will delete them sooner.

The Family plan

If you own a Family plan, deleting your account ends it for all members immediately, and its store subscription keeps renewing until you cancel it in Google Play or the App Store. If you are a member, your seat is freed.

Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.

About your subscription: deleting your account does not cancel an active paid subscription. Cancel it separately in Google Play → Subscriptions or in the App Store to stop future charges.
